Colour and Wad Coding by Series

Every series in the Ozkursan catalogue is identified by its own colour and wad combination, which makes it easy to tell series of the same gauge apart visually.

Slug Cartridges

Alongside shot cartridges, Ozkursan also manufactures single-core slug loads. These are covered separately in What Is a Hunting Slug Cartridge?; they share the same case type and wad family as shot cartridges but carry a single lead projectile instead of shot.

Steel Shot Series

Choosing the Right Cartridge

Selecting a cartridge means checking that the case length (such as 70 mm) matches the shotgun's chamber, that the wad material suits the intended use — general hunting, a specific game species, or competition shooting — and that shot weight is matched to the target species. Calibre Range

Ozkursan's hunting shotgun cartridges are produced in 12, 16, 20 and 36 (.410) gauge. 12 gauge carries the widest range, covering the Codex, Classic, Special, Steel Shot and Competition series in full; 16, 20 and 36 gauge offer a smaller range, generally focused on slug products.
